Founded in 2020 by Kathy Barkauskas, Teddy Bear Travel was born from Kathy’s passion for travel and her desire to share that joy with others. After years of experience in the travel industry, Kathy decided it was time to start her own agency and help families create extraordinary trips. Having traveled extensively throughout her life, Kathy understands the importance of making every detail of a vacation perfect.
Teddy Bear Travel is named in loving memory of Kathy’s father-in-law, who was an avid traveler and fondly referred to his group trips as “teddy bear” trips. His spirit of adventure and generosity continues to inspire our work today. Now, we proudly plan trips for our own family, friends, and their loved ones—spreading the joy of travel far and wide.

As the owner and founder of Teddy Bear Travel, my passion is about creating magical memories for families—just like the ones I was fortunate to experience growing up. I was lucky enough to travel extensively, with Walt Disney World being a special destination for our family. As I grew older, my travels expanded to include many more destinations around the world. To date, I’ve explored 45 states, over 30 countries, and 5 continents, and I’m always eager to discover even more!
After starting my own family, I realized how much joy travel can bring. I wanted to help other families experience that same sense of wonder. Our first trip to Walt Disney World as a family was a game-changer for me, and it sparked my desire to help other families create their own unforgettable experiences. We travel regularly to Disney destinations like Disney Cruises, Disneyland, and Walt Disney World, and we love all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, with Beaches Turks & Caicos being one of our top picks. As my kids have grown, we’ve started expanding our travels to Europe, Australia, and Asia!
